Welcome to our July newsletter.
As I am sure most of you know the England wide smoking ban came into force on Sunday 1st July. It has to be said that nights out will be much more enjoyable now everything won't smell of stale smoke at the end of the evening.
I have several friends who are now trying to give up smoking, not an easy thing to do. If you have friends or loved ones who want to stop, maybe meditation could help them or some basic yoga postures to hopefully calm their cravings. Good luck to anyone giving up.
"Learning yoga and breathing techniques are ideal ways to support the body and mind during withdrawal. They also help improve sleep and relaxation. Learning how to breathe deeply not only exercises the lungs but also reduces symptoms of stress. Studies have shown that stress can induce relapse in ex smokers. Dependency has also been linked to individuals who are more anxious. Meditation and other therapies that teach how the mind and body are influenced by the breath are ideal ways to help control stress, support withdrawal and restore sleep".
